Durch die Coesfelder Heide

11,5 km - the journey is the goal! This circular hiking trail follows in the footsteps of the mystic Anna Katharina Emmerick durch die Coesfelder Heide. If you want to follow in their footsteps, this hiking tip is spot on.

Right on the way, in the Flamschen peasantry, is the house where Katharina was born, who was beatified by the Pope in 2004 because of her visions and stigmata.

You hike through the Stockum farming community, over the Berkel river and durch die Coesfelder Heide. On the way is the Hasenkapelle, a popular hiking destination on the Steveder Landweg. A path that used to be the only connection between the rural population and the city.

Past a Heidesee the path then leads you back to the Goxel farmers and to the parking lot at the “Heidehof”. There you can reward yourself with a little refreshment.
