The Biological station in the Recklinghausen district would like to reach as many people as possible with her environmental education.
Since the end of 1994, the Biological Station has had its home on the former farm "Hof Punsmann" in the middle of Naturpark High mark. The farm grounds and the surrounding forest areas offer ideal conditions for comprehensive ecological educational work. Rangers from the Ruhr Grün regional association are also accommodated at Hof Punsmann.
offers on Naturparkhouse
The biological station has an outdoor area of approx. 2,8 hectares with historical courtyard structures with dry stone walls, ponds, an adobe half-timbered house, courtyard fountain and cold frames. The barrier-free cottage garden and a raised bed that can be driven under should also be emphasized. Other elements such as hill beds, compost rent and nesting aids for insects and birds complete our garden area as a teaching and learning garden.

The biological station offers educational events for all target groups of the population by arrangement. The topics are closely related to the fields of activity and the environment of the station.
exhibition
In the exhibition At the Biological Station of the Recklinghausen District, visitors discover the hidden world beneath our feet: the fascinating network of fungi that permeates the forest like an invisible internet. The exhibit vividly and engagingly demonstrates how fungi connect trees, exchange nutrients, and thus enable life in the forest. An inspiring journey into the "Wood Wide Web" that will amaze nature lovers of all ages and awaken a desire to see the forest with fresh eyes.

The biparcours starts at the building of the biological station. From here it leads to many different places where there is a lot to discover and experience. With playful tasks, clever quiz questions and interesting information, even the little ones are introduced to the wonders of nature.
PS: Sometimes the reception is not so good on the road. You can take a closer look at nature and get really creative! With a few notes, the digital puzzles can also be solved later.
For information: The use of the Biparcours app is reserved exclusively for pupils.
