Starting from VelenFirst, we head towards the raised bog. During a short break (and by prior arrangement), the D(T)orfmuseum invites you to gain insights into what was once the largest raised bog in Westphalia.

On the way to the Fürstenkuhle nature reserve, you will see one of the last remaining raised bogs. The adjacent Kuhlenvenn nature reserve also impresses with its variety of habitats and clearly reflects the influence of humans in the past. With a bit of luck, you can observe rare meadow birds such as the curlew around the wet meadows.
