Embark on a journey through the past and immerse yourself in the Roman era! At 39 km you will learn on this loop of the Römer-Lippe-Route something about the everyday life and the hardships that determined the life of the Roman legionnaires.
Starting from Dorsten, the Lippe ferry Baldur awaits you after a few kilometers, with which you can cross over with a hand crank and dry feet from April to October.
In the further course of your tour you will come across some ancient stations. You pass the Schermbeck castle complex - a former moated castle, the imposing Gartrop Castle and the quaint towboat village of Krudenburg.
With the old waterworks in Wesel, you will experience one of the most beautiful and oldest steam-operated systems of its kind in Germany.
