On the loop of the Römer-Lippe-Route and a journey into the past: This tour shows you a lot about the everyday life and the hardships that determined the lives of the Roman legionaries. Exciting!
Starting from Dorsten, the Lippe ferry Baldur awaits you after a few kilometers, with which you can cross the river by hand crank and dry feet from April to October.
As your tour continues, you will come across ancient stations. You will pass the Schermbeck castle complex - a former moated castle -, the impressive Gartrop Castle and the quaint towboat village of Krudenburg.
At the Old Waterworks in Wesel you can experience one of the most beautiful and oldest steam-powered plants of its kind in Germany.
