Lippemündungs-Schleife

On this 18 km long loop, the “Roman Lippe Route”, you accompany the Lippe from Hünxe until it flows into the Rhine in Wesel.

Start the tour in a rustic atmosphere in the Hünxener district of Krudenburg - a towboat village with historical significance.

Enjoy the water landscape of the Naturpark Hohe Mark comfortably from the saddle as you cycle towards Wesel.

Just before Wesel, from mid-April to mid-October, you have the opportunity to take the “Quertreiber” ferry across the Lippe without getting your feet wet. However, this does require some muscle power, as the ferry has to be operated by hand.

Drive past the old waterworks and continue past the Lippe harbor until you reach the estuary, which has been left to nature again for several years. Let your gaze wander over the picturesque floodplain landscape and enjoy the expanse before heading back to Hünxe goes.
