Countryside trip and the Ruhr area – how do they fit together? Well, perfectly! See for yourself while you enjoy the many green spaces – where Naturpark and metropolis meet – cross!
From Dorsten train station, the country trip takes you towards Bottrop. Wander through the natural paradise of Kirchheller Heide – a nature reserve with extensive heath and moor landscapes. Here and at the adjacent Heidesee, the landscape of the NaturparkExperience the Hohe Mark particularly well, because many parts of the Kirchheller Heide were created by subsidence, while the Heidesee was originally used as a gravel pit.
After crossing the Wesel-Dattel Canal in Hünxe you cycle along the former railway line through Schermbeck back to Dorsten.
