Country outing and the Ruhr area – how does that fit together? Great! See for yourself as you explore the many green spaces—there where Naturpark and metropolis meet – cross!
From Dorsten train station, the outing takes you in the direction of Bottrop. Stroll through the natural paradise of Kirchheller Heide - a nature reserve with extensive heath and moorland. Here and also on the adjacent Heidesee, the landscape that follows the NaturparkExperience the Hohe Mark particularly well, because many parts of the Kirchheller Heide were created by subsidence, while the Heidesee was originally used as a gravel pit.
After crossing the Wesel-Dattel Canal in Hünxe cycle back to Dorsten via the former railway line through Schermbeck.
