Packed everything? Then send the backpack to yourself or your companion and get going!
In this exhibition, you'll immerse yourself in the fascinating world of meadows and pastures, engaging all your senses. The exhibition takes you into a habitat that is particularly important for nature conservation – and one that can be wonderfully explored, even with the whole family.
The focus is on the Europe-wide protected species-rich meadow of smooth oat grass. At 20 lovingly designed, richly illustrated plates You will learn how diverse our local meadows are, why many plants are threatened today and what can be done to preserve them – specifically in the Coesfeld district.
A Film contribution This video vividly demonstrates how species-poor grassland areas can be revitalized. You'll see how the so-called hay transfer process works with a meadow machine, tractor, and manure spreader – a true success story for nature.
At the Listening station It will be especially exciting for young visitors: Here, two rare plant species tell their own unique stories. Learn about the Lung Gentian know and marvel at the Bee orchid, a fascinating orchid that can also be found in the Coesfeld district.
Another highlight is the botanical table trolleyHere you can discover pressed plants preserved in resin. This unique plant archive allows you to experience the diversity of meadows up close.
Come along, look closely, listen carefully – and discover where the wild plants lived!
