Over 20.000 spindles once turned in the spinning Herding in Bocholt. The past and present of textiles come to life again on three floors. Exhibitions give insights into historical and modern technology, show fashion design and international textile art.
Event rooms and a glass roof café offer space for a variety of events.

The weaving mill is in the immediate vicinity. There is a smell of oil and work here, and the looms rattle so loudly that you cover your ears involuntarily. What you experience today during a visit was everyday life for thousands of men and women 100 years ago.

We'll show you how the pace of the machines dictated their work. Transmission belts and long drive shafts set over 30 historic machines in motion under the shed roofs of the large weaving hall.

Our employees produce fabrics for towels and tablecloths from our historical collection here every day. Away from the noisy factory, you will get to know the meager everyday life of families in a fully furnished workers' house including a cultivated garden.
