Worth protecting – and you're right in the middle of it: Natura 2000 areas in the Naturpark High mark

In the Natura 2000 areas of the NaturparkParticularly valuable habitats such as near-natural forests, wetlands, heathlands, and species-rich meadows can be found here. They offer an important refuge for rare species such as bats, amphibians, meadow birds, and specialized plants.

To ensure that these sensitive ecosystems are preserved, certain rules apply to visitors:

• Observe the rules of the road: Please stay on the designated paths to avoid disturbing animals and plants.
• No disturbance to animals: Avoid noise and keep your distance from wild animals, especially during breeding and nesting seasons.
• Do not remove plants: Picking or digging up plants is not allowed.
• Leash your dog: Dogs must be kept on a leash in protected areas to protect wildlife.
• No open fires: Barbecues and open fires are not permitted.
• Avoid waste: Please take your rubbish with you.
• Cycling only on designated paths: Cycling is not permitted off the marked trails.
