Packed everything? Then send the backpack to yourself or your companion and set off.
The ideal bike tour to get away from it all. The relatively short distance of 19 km gives you enough time to enjoy the wonderful natural jewel “Diersfordter Wald”. And it's worth it!
Oak trees and lots of ferns - that is typical of the Diersfordt Forest. Roam this landscape and let yourself be infected by the tranquility of the forest.
Small moor and heather areas provide variety on your foray. Keep an eye out for native animals. Take your time! With a bit of luck, wild boars, red and fallow deer or mouflons can be observed in their natural surroundings. A very special inhabitant of the Diersfordt Forest also has a kind of “antler”, albeit a bit smaller: the stag beetle. This is where the largest population of this rare insect can be found in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The path leads you past the Black Water - an idyllic heather pond in the middle of wooded sand dunes.
And on the other side of the forest, the Diersfordter Waldsee invites you to “watch nature”. Several viewing platforms offer you a wonderful view of the lake with its island biotopes.
