Wild horses in the Merfelder Bruch

On Europe's last remaining wild horse trail, a herd of around 400 free-roaming horses roams through meadows and heathland. Dun-colored, with a dark dorsal stripe and full of energy – here you can watch foals playing, mares nursing their young, or horse families dozing peacefully in the grass.
