Feuchtwiesen und Bäche – Dorstener Norden

This route takes you 44 km along wet meadows, moors and streams. You roam a cultural landscape that has been inhabited for thousands of years and whose various uses as arable and pasture land, commercial forest and for water management have left visible traces.

Enjoy the wide view over the Rhader Wiesen nature reserve! In this idyllic meadow and brook landscape, you can watch the hustle and bustle of the resident storks. There are three stork nests in the immediate vicinity.

An absolutely worthwhile stop on your circuit is the Recklinghausen district biological station on the Punsmann farm near Dorsten-Lembeck. On an area of approx. 3 hectares, the biological station offers a varied outdoor area: a beautifully landscaped cottage garden, orchards, ponds, raised and hill beds, wild meadows, dry stone walls and hedges and all of this in the middle of a quiet wooded area immediately put you in a relaxed mood. The area with the cottage garden can be visited free of charge at any time.

You can also take a break at the Tüshaus Mühle in Dorsten-Deuten - a special kind of cultural monument. On every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month or on request, you can be guided through the only fully functional watermill in North Rhine-Westphalia .
