Anyone visiting the Biological Station in Dorsten-Lembeck with the whole family can look forward to an exciting experience: The mysterious world of fungi comes to life, offering explorers of all ages fascinating insights into these often invisible, yet incredibly important thread-like creatures. Under the title "Interconnected Landscapes," visitors learn why fungi are essential to life on Earth. A particularly impressive exhibit is a lifelike tree model that demonstrates how fungi communicate with each other in the "Wood Wide Web." At a listening station, children and parents can even listen to the conversations between fungi and trees! The exhibition, which invites visitors to marvel with forest motifs and new lighting, is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 16:30 p.m., and from May 1st also on Sundays and public holidays from 11:00 a.m. to 16:30 p.m. Admission is free for the whole family!
The exhibition extension was funded by the LWL Nature Fund of the Westphalia-Lippe Regional Association.
