Whether hiking or cycling: four new outdoor seating groups now invite you to enjoy your home in a relaxed manner.
Mayor Patrick Voßkamp and Marianne Teltrop from Naturpark Hohe Mark met for a photo session at the Düwelsteenen in Heidenthe district of Nordick. Two of the seating groups are located here, Heiden's landmark, two more were placed at the hiking car parks on the Rekeninstalled on the street.
"There's always a lot going on here at our Düwelsteenen – all the better that we can now offer even more opportunities to linger," says a delighted Mayor Voßkamp. As if to prove it, two vacationers from the Netherlands happen to pass by and enthusiastically talk about their tours in the area.
Marianne Teltrop can provide them with brochures from Naturpark Hohe Mark directly provide new tips for further routes. "We want to entice people outdoors and give them little oases of peace in the midst of our beautiful nature with the benches," she explains, adding with a wink: "In any case, we're preventing a banking crisis here!"
When selecting the furniture, we deliberately opted for robust recycled plastic – durable, easy to clean and environmentally friendly.
Anyone interested in learning more about the legendary Düwelsteene (Devil's Stones) will find modern information panels around the site. Their design is based on the shape of the historic megalithic stones and blends harmoniously into the landscape.
The new tables and benches were funded by the Münster District Government using funds from the Nature Conservation Funding Guideline – FöNa – of the Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
