Munster/Raesfeld: Of course there are shorter ways from Naturparkhaus zum Wasserschloss Raesfeld - but hardly more impressive than the circular route that the approximately 60 participants today (August 18) under the patronage of District President Andreas Bothe through the historic cultural landscape of the Münsterlands went. The fifth event of this kind - the hike according to Westphalian standards is now a long-standing tradition, remarked the district president when welcoming the participants.
“Today's hiking trail in the Naturpark Hohe Mark is an expression of the active cooperation between the Münsterland, the Emscher-Lippe region and our administrative district with the Niederrhein and the neighboring municipalities in the Metropole Ruhr. I am happy to be able to undertake such a hike again this year and that we have the opportunity to exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere in the open air,” said Andreas Bothe at the beginning of the event to the participants.
With the approximately two-hour hike, the participants should Naturpark get to know and experience better. The joint event has been one of the most popular network meetings in the administrative district for five years.
In addition to District President Andreas Bothe as patron, attended this year's Naturparkthe district administrator also hikes in the district Borken, dr Kai Zwicker, and Markus Büsken from the city of Raesfeld as well as representatives of the Hohe Mark association.
The Naturpark High mark
The Naturpark Hohe Mark was founded in March 1963 in Haltern am See, at the intersection of Münsterland, Niederrhein and Ruhr area founded. It is a protected area to experience and discover. Man and nature should come together. Visitors should get to know the special features of the landscape, the animal and plant world and the tradition of the region. The Naturpark is primarily committed to the preservation of the natural and cultural landscape, promotes sustainable tourism and wants to ensure sustainable regional development by establishing regional networks.
