Raesfeld, May 09.07.2025, XNUMX Naturpark Hohe Mark / Bocholt / Rhede / Hamminkeln
A groundbreaking collaboration – Büffelhof Kragemann in Bocholt-Barlo becomes NaturparkPartners. Who else?
Im Naturpark Hohe Mark there are already some Naturpark Partners. They are working together to develop nature tourism offerings for the region. In the future, the work will be intensified and new partners will be acquired. Büffelhof Kragemann is one of them.
The first contact with the buffalo farm was rather accidental. When Dagmar Beckmann, managing director of the NaturparkWhen she visited the farm at the invitation of Silvia and Martin Mölders, she was immediately enthusiastic.
The water buffalo herd comprises 150 animals. Not all of the animals live on the farm; the dairy cows, for example, can be found on a pasture in Vardingholt, while others are used for landscape maintenance in the Dingdener Büngerner Heide. "Water buffalo are extremely docile animals, so you can get up close and personal with them on the farm. We also regularly offer tours of the farm," reports Silvia Mölders.
The Naturpark Hohe Mark would like to establish the Hohe Mark Steigs and the Hohe Mark RadRoute now offer smaller, attractive offers with Naturpark-bundle thematically, enhance and develop attractive excursion programs for residents and guests.
The municipalities of Bocholt, Rhede and the Dingden Heath in Hamminkeln form a space in which such programs should be developed.
"We want to make the essence and spirit of landscape, history, traditions and craftsmanship tangible and visible, and tell stories about nature and home," Dagmar Beckmann summarizes the project. To this end, the Naturpark Together with the municipalities, we identify existing offerings and stakeholders who would like to participate. Who has ideas?
They're looking for people who are rooted in the region and offer their services with joy and heart. The Mölders family is a great example of this. In addition to the farm shop and a self-service store, the farm houses not only water buffalo, but also free-roaming Berkshire pigs, goats, sheep, ponies, and two rheas. Tables invite you to take a break, and there's a small tractor course for children. If you're lucky, you'll be greeted by the farm dog, Heidi. The area is a gem that invites you to visit.
Anyone who feels addressed by his offer and is interested in a cooperation with the Naturpark can imagine, is welcome to contact the Naturpark Hohe Mark Please report, preferably by email to Dagmar Beckmann, db-hohemark@raesfeld.de.
