With the day care center "Waldmäuse" the 26.03.2020th kindergarten in NRW and the 10rd kindergarten in the Naturpark Hohe Mark and in the entire administrative district and thus also in the district Borken excellent. So far, 27 kindergartens throughout Germany have been Naturparkkita excellent. Due to the corona crisis, the award could not be combined with a small ceremony - but this will be made up for. The team of Naturparks Hohe Mark is looking forward to working with the kindergarten.

The kindergarten "Die Waldmäuse" is a parents' initiative in Heiden. Here, in a one-group system, 20 children are cared for by three educators (even by four educators in the morning hours).

This kindergarten is a forest kindergarten and also a place for inclusion (depending on the degree of disability and assessment by the pediatrician).

Regardless of the weather, the children and the carers spend most of the day outside.

The main starting point is the heated trailer in the forest area behind the Heidenhe open-air stage. It is available to us as a headquarters and shelter in extreme weather conditions. The sanitary facilities of the open-air stage are in the immediate vicinity.

The forest kindergarten represents an alternative care offer that supports the children holistically, is well prepared for school and has a lasting effect.

The bearer of Heidenhe forest kindergarten “Die Waldmäuse” is the parents’ initiative “Die Waldmäuse e. V." The management of the kindergarten is carried out by the board of directors. The kindergarten has been part of the parity umbrella organization for almost two years.
