5 years Hohe Mark Steig – A reason to celebrate!
The Naturpark Hohe Mark invites you to a hiking week with guided hikes over the six stages of the Hohe Mark Steig
What began as an idea has now become a real favorite trail for nature and hiking enthusiasts. Hohe Mark Steig It connects people with nature and the region through special experiences along the way.
To mark its fifth anniversary, it will be held in the Naturpark Hohe Mark Anniversary hiking days are being held. From September 25th to 30th, one of the six stages of the [hike/trek] will be featured each day. Hohe Mark SteigIt's on the program. The tours will be accompanied by Steffi Hetzel, a certified hiking guide and blogger (@reiseziege.de), and an employee of the Naturpark High mark.
The premium hiking trail, developed and certified according to the specifications of the German Hiking Association, impresses with fantastic views and its flat, predominantly natural route.
During the tours, guests receive information about the history of the trail, the local flora and fauna, and the highlights along the route.
The anniversary price for participation is €35,00 per person per stage. In addition to professional guidance, the price includes lunch, a small surprise gift, and return transport to the respective starting point at the end of the hiking day.
To ensure a personal hiking experience and high-quality support, the number of participants is limited to a maximum of 20 people per stage.

Anyone who has always wanted to experience a long-distance hiking trail, but hasn't yet dared to undertake a multi-day tour, can simply try out a stage during our anniversary week or even combine several.”

A good level of fitness is important for hikers, as the stages are between 19 and 28 kilometers long.

The Hohe Mark Steig runs across the Naturpark Hohe Mark from Wesel in the west to Olfen in the east. It was developed and expanded between 2017 and 2021 using funds from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The Ruhr Regional Association also made a significant contribution to the financing and the development of the infrastructure. It will also be responsible for the maintenance of the path and infrastructure for the first 15 years after the project's completion.
