Everything packed? Then send the backpack to yourself or your companion and set off!
International Dark Sky Week is a worldwide celebration of the night sky.
From the soothing darkness that allows us to sleep deeply and peacefully, to the special moments beneath a sparkling canopy of stars – the night is full of magic and meaning. Natural darkness protects fragile animal habitats, promotes the well-being of our society, opens new avenues for research and science, and preserves cultural traditions and shared heritage.
Join us in April as we symbolically “turn off the lights” to rediscover the night and work together to protect dark skies around the world.

Countdown to International Dark Sky Week from April 13–20, 2026. Under the motto “Go dark”, the call to explore the night and take measures to protect dark skies worldwide is once again being extended this year.
