Museum Villa Medica and Naturpark Hohe Mark start joint projects

It invites visitors, even those not visiting the museum, to enjoy the garden's special atmosphere and experience the natural surroundings more intensely.

The new seating exemplifies the shared goal of better integrating the museum with its surroundings and developing new offerings for diverse target groups. A particular focus is placed on families with children. Joint initiatives aim to combine museum visits with engaging and thematically relevant activities in the surrounding area.

The next joint event has already been scheduled: The "Neighborhood Festival in the Monastery Garden" in July (July 12, 2026) will be attended by the Naturpark Hohe Mark with an information stand and a craft activity in the museum garden of the Villa Medica.

Through this partnership, the museum and the Naturpark a clear sign of a vibrant connection between culture, nature and environmental education in Rhede.

The purchase of the seating was supported by funds from the FöNa funding program of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The total cost amounted to almost 6.500 euros, 80 percent of which was covered by the funding budget of the Naturparkwere taken over.
