NaturparkTalk invited on Monday, August 04.11.2025nd, XNUMX, the twelve NaturparkRepresentatives from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia were invited to the atrium of the Ministry of the Environment in Düsseldorf. There, they presented current projects on the topic of "Climate and Climate Resilience" and exchanged ideas with key stakeholders and experts about current challenges and opportunities. Two mobile environmental education units were available for interested parties in the outdoor area.

The welcoming addresses were given by Environment Minister Oliver Krischer, the District Administrator of the Rhein-Sieg district, and the Chairman of the association. Naturparke NRW eV, Sebastian Schuster and the President of the Association of German Naturparke, Friedel Heuwinkel.

The program continued with the four areas of action of NaturparkThe topics covered were nature conservation and landscape management, local recreation and sustainable tourism, education for sustainable development, and sustainable regional development. Four successful practical examples related to climate and climate resilience were presented, each with a short introductory presentation.

The Sponge Forest Project impressively demonstrates how the resilience of forests to drought can be increased through the collaboration of different stakeholders.

The development of a tourism usage concept for the Ville lakes in the greater Cologne area shows a possible way to reconcile usage interests and nature conservation.

The Climate Change Bus effectively combines climate protection and public relations. On the one hand, it serves as an exciting and engaging educational resource on public transport, and on the other hand, it provides students with access to extracurricular learning locations in nature.

The Day of Regional Products highlights the importance of local producers. The sustainable business practices and diversification of offerings by small businesses protect against overexploitation and strengthen the local economy.

Following this, experts from science, practice and state authorities discussed the role of NaturparkThis also included the identification of success factors and joint solutions.

The summary of the event shows that NaturparkThey are key players in the implementation of state goals. They are networkers and moderators in the regions, directly involved in preserving the natural foundations of their work. Together, they advocate NaturparkThey advocate in their respective regions for the preservation, protection and sustainable use of natural resources.
